_____7th Annual Co-op Power________ ______Sustainability Summit__________ ______Fri. Sept. 23rd, 6-11 pm_______ __Sat. Sept. 24th, 9 am to 3:30 pm____
Co-op Power's Sustainability Summit will celebrate the work communities are doing to work for justice and sustainability. Communities are reducing their energy use and costs, building community owned sustainable energy, and bringing jobs and benefits to limited resource communities and communities of color, because they believe in a better way.
Join in the festivities! We will have live music from La Charanga Libre, Groove Shoes, and others, a family area with games and child-oriented activities, local food, dancing, exhibitors and activity centers where you can learn effective ways to make your life more affordable, comfortable, safe, and sustainable.
You'll also have an opportunity to participate in a Sustainable Solutions Think Tank addressing one of the key issues facing us as we transition our communities to a more just and sustainable future. We've picked six key topics to work on: Energy Efficiency for Renters, Renewable Energy for Limited Resource Communities, Locl Economics and Growth, Restoring Justice and the Green Economy, Farming and Food Systems, and Transportation. Great discussion leaders will help guide these think tank discussions.
The event will also be held in cooperation with 350.org's Moving Planet.
We have so much to celebrate - raising $500,000 this past summer, building our biodiesel plant, launching a new energy efficiency crew in Boston, providing more green energy to our members and more green energy economy tools for communities, getting to a million in income in the coming year, helping to develop eight new green businesses with more than 100 good green jobs! It’s time for a party!
Hope to see you at the Summit!
